Ambassador’s Certificate of Appreciation to Atlantic Academy in Kaiserslautern

February 27, 2009. PAO Jeanine Collins presented the Ambassador’s Certificate of Appreciation to Dr. Werner Kremp (right), director of the Atlantic Academy in Kaiserslautern, and Wolfgang Tönnesmann, director of studies (left), on February 27th. For the past thirteen years, the Academy has been engaged throughout the state of Rhineland-Palatinate in cultivating German citizens’ knowledge about American politics, society, and culture as well as extending the relationship between US citizens and citizens of Rhineland-Palatinate, which has been shaped by the military presence in the region, through cultural, economical, and interpersonal exchange. It has gained wide respect through its ambitious conference and seminar programs as well as its publication series “Atlantic Texts.” The subject-specific conferences, seminars, workshops, and lectures for different target groups are realized in cooperation with regional and national partners, among them the U.S. Consulate General in Frankfurt. Ms. Collins led a strategic planning session with the leadership of the Atlantic Academy and discussed future joint programs.
