Description:

From McDonald’s in Moscow to Starbucks in Shanghai, American food is simply everywhere. But why and how? And beyond being fast, what exactly is American food? In her online talk, cultural historian L. Sasha Gora will address the connections between food, identity, and politics in the United States. By introducing the history of American food, she will discuss Indigenous influences, immigrants and assimilation, food justice, and who has a seat at the table.
