Sergeant Mike Abdeen in Kaiserslautern

We were thrilled to welcome Sergeant Mike Abdeen from the Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department in Kaiserslautern! Thanks to the U.S. Consulate General Frankfurt and the U.S. Embassy Berlin, we were able to host Sergeant Abdeen and he spoke in front of German law enforcement officials and teachers about his work as the Director of Community Outreach and Engagement program. (More pictures to come!) He also established the Muslim Community Affairs Unit, the first of its kind in the State of California and the nation.

He then briefed the 569th United States Forces Police Squadron about his work in community outreach, received a tour of the facilities and was introduced to the great partnership between the 569th and the German police headquarter here in Kaiserslautern.

By the way, the 569th and the German Polizeipräsidium Westpfalz were recognized for their work when they received the 2016 Civilian Law Enforcement – Military Cooperation Award from the International Association of Chiefs of Police!

A big thanks to the 569th for hosting Sergeant Mike Abdeen and to the Consulate General Frankfurt and the U.S. Embassy Berlin for making his visit possible!
