Description:

Despite the pandemic, protest marches, and numerous presidential scandals: Once again, it was the economy that, according to all the polls, was the most important, decisive election issue that propelled Americans to vote this past November. It was in this area that the surprisingly strong incumbent Donald Trump held one of his few trump cards in respect to voter popularity. The next President of the United States, Joe Biden, must therefore deliver – and turn his simple slogan “Build Back Better” into a concrete program for a sustainable, long-term reconstruction of the US economy.

In this virtual event organized by the Carl-Schurz-Haus in Freiburg, two of the world’s leading economists will be discussing what Americans and the rest of the world may expect from Joe Biden in terms of economic policy.
