Description:

Climate change, war, disinformation – these challenges are not only multifaceted and interconnected, but require joint solutions and, ideally, a strong transatlantic partnership. Global warming and the war in Ukraine force us to take a closer look at our energy policies as well as our understanding of security. How can we provide a reliable energy supply that does not harm the climate and does not support authoritarian regimes? And what role do the United States and Germany play within NATO - are changes afoot in light of recent developments in Europe? These and many more questions need to be answered, without the interference of disinformation and so-called “fake news”. In this youth seminar, we want to take a closer look at how the U.S. and Germany face these critical moments in time and what it means for the transatlantic partnership. By receiving input from experts, attending a workshop and discussing these issues with their peers, young Germans and Americans can learn more about current challenges and each other’s perspective of them.
