Beschreibung:

The elections and their aftermath have illustrated again the fissures in U.S. society and politics. With Joe Biden nearing the end of his first 100 days in office, it is time to have a closer look at specific developments and how they might impact the future of the United States. By analyzing the changes in U.S. society we want to pay special attention to factors such as inequality and demographic changes. How do these two developments shape future (policy) discussions and the country itself? In addition, an analysis of the first 100 days of the Biden administration will be taking place in the context of the development of both parties. Is bipartisanship dead or could the Biden administration revive it during the honeymoon phase? The seminar will also include a session on how to transport this knowledge into the classroom.
