About Sarah Wagner, M.A.

Sarah Wagner, M.A., studied Political Science, English and Educational Science at the University of Trier in the Magister/Staatsexamen program. During her time at the university, she worked as a student assistant for the research project “The Political Representation of Poverty in the Political Parties of Germany” at the SFB 600 as well as for the Trier Center for America Studies (TCAS).

She attended the University of Nebraska-Omaha in 2011/12 with the Fulbright Program. Until 2015, she worked as the Program Assistant at the German-American Institute Saarland. Since March 2015, she has been the Education Manager at the Atlantic Academy Rheinland-Pfalz. In this capacity, Sarah develops, organizes and conducts various programs for diverse audiences which aim to educate Germans and to create opportunities for German-American encounters. This includes regular lectures and seminars as well as workshops in schools. Next to these events, she is also the co-host of the podcast of the Atlantic Academy, “Amerikas Verfassung”, where she regularly discusses current events in the United States with her co-host, Dr. David Sirakov. In addition, she is in charge of the social media presence of the Atlantic Academy.

Her work and writing focus on transatlantic relations, US domestic politics and civil-military relations,. She has created educational materials for the Federal Agency for Civic Education (Bundeszentrale für politische Bildung/bpb) and has been an interview partner for numerous radio, print and online media outlets. In 2020, she co-edited a book on US politics for Nomos publishing. In 2021, she was selected as a fellow for the Transatlantic Exchange of Civic Educators (TECE) program.
