Sarah A. Wagner studied Political Science, English and Educational Science at the University of Trier. She wrote her master thesis under Prof. Dr. Maull on the topic of civil-military relations during the Obama administration. During her time at the university, she worked as a research assistant für the research project "The Political Representation of Poverty in the Political Parties of Germany" at the SFB 600 for Prof. Jun. In addition, she worked as a research assistant at the Trier Center for America Studies (TCAS) for Prof. Hurm.
She also attended the University of Nebraska-Omaha in 2011/12 with the Fulbright Program and conducted research at the Center for Afghanistan Studies. Until 2015, she worked as the Program Assistant at the German-American Institute Saarbrücken.
Her research focus lies on civil-military relations, transatlantic relations and US domestic politics.
