Sarah A. Wagner studied Political Science, English and Educational Science at the University of Trier. She wrote her master thesis under Prof. Dr. Maull on the topic of civil-military relations during the Obama administration. During her time at the university, she worked as a research assistant für the research project "The Political Representation of Poverty in the Political Parties of Germany" at the SFB 600 for Prof. Jun. In addition, she worked as a research assistant at the Trier Center for America Studies (TCAS) for Prof. Hurm.
She also attended the University of Nebraska-Omaha in 2011/12 with the Fulbright Program and conducted research at the Center for Afghanistan Studies. Until 2015, she worked as the Program Assistant at the German-American Institute Saarbrücken. Here, she was responsible for the program of the institute and its youth and U.S. outreach as well as its social media channels.
Her research focus lies on civil-military relations, transatlantic relations and US domestic politics.
